Suchana Seth, 39, the chief executive officer of Mindful AI Lab, a Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence start-up, was arrested in Goa for allegedly murdering her four-year-old son. According to a police officer, Suchana Seth flew with the body to adjacent Karnataka after reportedly murdering her son.

  • Nidhin Valsan, Superintendent of Police (North), said the woman is from West Bengal and has been residing in Bengaluru, while her husband Venkat Raman is from Kerala. The divorced spouse is now in Indonesia and has been informed about the event, according to Valsan.

What we know currently about the case :

  • Suchana Seth and her son booked into a leased service flat in Candolim, North Goa, on 6 January, according to Calangute police station inspector Paresh Naik.
  • After a few days, Seth informed the flat staff that she needed to go to Bengaluru for work and requested them to arrange for a cab, according to Naik.
  • According to the officer, the personnel offered that woman take a trip to Bengaluru, which would be a less expensive choice than taking a cab.
  • The woman insisted on travelling by cab solely, and a vehicle was prepared for her on January 8, when she left for Bengaluru early in the morning.
  • He said that when the flat staff went to clean the room where she stayed, they discovered blood traces on a towel. The apartment’s manager promptly notified the Calangute Police.
  • Seth’s four-year-old kid was not seen with her as she left the flat, and she was reportedly carrying an abnormally hefty bag, according to the staff.
  • The cops then approached her and inquired about the blood stains and her “missing” son.
  • The woman said that the blood stains were caused by her menstrual cycle. She added that her kid was staying with a friend in Margao, South Goa, and gave the location.
  • According to Naik, the police promptly sought the assistance of Fatorda Police (near Margao) and discovered that the address she provided was a forgery.
  • The inspector then instructed the cab driver, who was on his way to Bengaluru and had arrived in Chitradurga district, to transport the accused to the nearest police station.
  • The police in Chitradurga searched the woman’s suitcase and discovered the child’s body, according to Naik.
  • After thereafter, a Calangute Police squad raced to Chitradurga and got a transit remand for Seth, who had been taken to Goa.
  • The event has been reported to the accused’s husband, Venkat Raman, who is now in Jakarta, according to Naik.
